If your business isn't as busy as it used to be, and you're not attracting as many new customers anymore, it might have something to do with your current curb appeal. People have a lot of choices when it comes to spending their money. Many people would prefer shopping somewhere that it appealing to the eye. If you haven't updated the appearance of your building in a while, or invested in some intense renovations, you could be losing money and customers. If you're not sure where to start, here are four suggestions that you should put at the top of your list:
Repave Your Parking Lot
If you have an asphalt parking lot that you haven't repaved in a while, you could be sending customers away. People spend a lot of money on their cars. They don't want to pull into a parking lot that's filled with deep cracks and potholes. Don't lose out on customers because your parking lot is a mine field of potholes. Hire an asphalt contractor to come out and repave your lot. Don't forget to have them apply a sealant once they're done repaving, especially if your parking lot will be exposed to extreme heat, freezing rain, or snow. The sealant will help extend the life of your new parking lot.
Give it a Fresh Coat of Paint
If your building hasn't been painted in a while, you could be looking at a few problems. First, the color could be faded, or even outdated. Second, your building could be coated in dirt. Finally, your building could have cracks and other damage that you haven't noticed. Perk up the appearance of your building, and protect your investment, by giving it a fresh coat of paint. If you are leasing your building, and painting is not an option, hire someone to come out and give it a good pressure washing. The pressure washing will remove all the dirt, and give your building a fresh, new look.
Add New Landscaping
If your landscaping is looking a little wilted, it's time to add some new plants. Bringing in healthy plants, and adding fresh ground covering will go a long way towards restoring your businesses curb appeal. People appreciate seeing landscaping that's well-kept when they pull up to a business.
Update Your Signage
If your current signage is broken, or worn-out, you could be sending the wrong message. Updated signage will improve the appearance of your business, and make it easier for people to see your building from the street, which is crucial if you're in a crowded business district.
